What We Do
Constellation Unity Foundation serves older adults, children, and low income families across Central Florida who face barriers to mental health care. We focus on access and follow through, helping people not just start treatment but stay with it until it works.
How We Do It
We work through a network of mental health referral partners, social workers, case managers, and support staff. Our case managers connect people to the right provider and coordinate transportation to appointments as well as to the grocery store, pharmacy, and community activities. We also offer companion services so no one has to face treatment alone.
Our Founder's Story
Constellation Unity Foundation was founded by Coralis Calderón, BSW, MBA, RCSWI. Coralis moved to Central Florida from Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, looking for better opportunities. She built her career from there, earning a Bachelor of Social Work from Universidad Del Este, an MBA in human resources and marketing from Inter American University of Puerto Rico, and a Master of Social Work in clinical and medical social work from Universidad Ana G. Méndez. That path led her to becoming a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern in the state of Florida.
Along the way, she saw how many people in her community, especially Hispanic and low-income families, wanted help but couldn't get it. Not because it didn't exist, but because no one was there to guide them through it, or because they didn't qualify for or couldn't afford the services available. A missed ride, a confusing application for Medicaid or food stamps, a first appointment with no follow-up, and care stopped before it ever really started. That gap became the reason she founded Constellation Unity Foundation. Coralis also leads Constellation Support Services, a separate entity that offers services on a fee basis for people who don't qualify for the Foundation's programs. Together, the two work to make sure cost or eligibility isn't what stands between someone and care.
Today, Coralis leads that mission forward. She also serves as editor of Mental Health Magazine and as a notary public in Florida, and she has been nominated for Businesswoman of the Year at the Josco Awards.
